In an effort to reach out to legislators, we prepared a 16-page booklet packed with the truth about Common Core and put relevant comics from the Weapons of Math Destruction series on each of the pages. These booklets were passed out to members of the Utah legislature today along with a copy of my op-ed from the Deseret News regarding HJR 8. Will you please email or call your legislator and ask if he/she got the booklet entitled, “What the State Office of Education Isn’t Telling You About Common Core” and ask if he/she agrees that Utah should get out of Common Core.

Please do not support Common Core. The amount of evidence against it, besides the loads of citizens (whom you serve) adamantly against Common Core, make this a simple decision for legislators – No on Common Core!

Well that was interesting and certainly will be entertaining for my blog. A rather insightful approach as well. State a fear, back up the conjured fear with an absolutely true statement from the government, then declare the statement is a lie with no reference or proof what so ever. Not brilliant or original, but well done. I bet 45% of the people who read this actually think it is valid enough to send to their congressman. The last 20 of $&@* education has really hurt us as a nation. It is a bit disbarring how easily people can get fooled by crap like this.
